3 Freezer Door Cocktails for the Holidays

The Best Way to Entertain Guest With Ease

The holiday season is all about celebrating with loved ones, and nothing makes hosting easier (or more impressive) than having a batch of freezer door cocktails ready to pour. These pre-batched drinks are stored in your freezer, ready to serve in a flash. The high alcohol content keeps them from freezing solid, so they’re always chilled and smooth. Here are five festive freezer door cocktails to keep the holiday spirit flowing.

1. Cranberry Negroni

A seasonal twist on the classic, this bittersweet cocktail gets a tart, festive lift from cranberry juice.

Serves 6-8 people

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gin

  • 1 cup Campari

  • 1 cup sweet vermouth

  • 1 cup cranberry juice (unsweetened)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher or bottle. Shake well and store in the freezer. Serve over ice with a sprig of rosemary and a few cranberries for garnish.

Tip: Feel free to replace gin with whiskey to create a holiday boulevardier

2. Holiday Old Fashioned

This classic gets a cozy holiday makeover with the addition of warm spices and maple syrup.

Serves: 6–8
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups bourbon

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon bitters

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 3 cloves

Directions:
Add all ingredients to a bottle or pitcher. Let the mixture sit for 24 hours to infuse, then strain out the spices. Store in the freezer and serve over a large ice cube with an orange twist.

3. Sparkling Pomegranate French 75

This festive freezer cocktail just needs a splash of bubbly before serving.

Serves: 6–8
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gin

  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

  • 1/2 cup pomegranate juice

  • 1/2 cup simple syrup

Directions:
Combine everything in a bottle and freeze. To serve, pour into a flute, top with sparkling wine, and garnish with a lemon twist or pomegranate seeds.

How to make simple syrup:

Combine 1/2 cup of water to 1/2 cup of sugar onto a stove top, stir and bring to a low heat until all sugar has been dissolved.
